Designing a calm canvas
Elena Rostova ·
Most whiteboards compete with your content. Neon accents, heavy drop shadows and busy chrome pull attention away from the ideas on the canvas.
PlanPepper started from the opposite premise: the interface should recede into the periphery. We use paper-like surfaces, micro-tonal separation and a restrained palette of terracotta, sage and periwinkle.
The result is a canvas you can sit with for hours without visual fatigue — and one where your stickies, diagrams and sketches are always the loudest thing on screen.
